Garden chicken bowl
Chicken thigh, liver, sweet potato, carrot, pumpkin, a spoonful of kelp, and a canine supplement doing the balancing. Nothing falls short and three things go over: vitamin A at 1.7 times its ceiling, iodine at 1.4 times, and selenium just past its own. Neither addition is careless. The liver is under 6 percent of the batch, which is what the usual organ guidance suggests, and the kelp is one spoon. The supplement already carries iodine and liver already carries a great deal of vitamin A, so both land on top of an amount that was sufficient without them. Nothing added to a recipe brings a level back down, which is why this reads differently from a recipe that is merely short.

Ingredients
- 450 g Chicken thigh, skinless boneless, raw
- 110 g Chicken liver, raw
- 480 g Sweet potato, baked in skin, flesh
- 350 g Carrot, raw
- 260 g Pumpkin, canned, plain (no spice)
- 110 g Egg, whole, raw
- 100 g Salmon, Atlantic, farmed, raw
- 12 g Sunflower oil, linoleic (>=65%)
- 8 g Eggshell powder (finely ground, dried)
- 2.5 g Kelp powder, dried (Ascophyllum/Laminaria)
- 10 g Balance IT Canine (vitamin/mineral/amino acid supplement)
Method
- Cook the diced chicken thigh, the chopped liver, and the salmon through in a large pot.
- Scramble the egg into the pot, then fold in the sweet potato, carrot, and pumpkin.
- Off the heat, mix in the sunflower oil, eggshell powder, kelp, and supplement. Adding the supplement to a hot pot costs some of the vitamins it carries.
- Cool fully before portioning into meals.

Measured against FEDIAF 2025 for adult maintenance, per 1,000 kcal of metabolisable energy, this recipe exceeds the maximum on 3 nutrients of the 27 compared. An amount over a maximum matters most, since no added ingredient brings it back down.

- Do not feed a recipe built here to an animal without review by a qualified veterinarian or veterinary nutrition specialist who knows that animal.
- Ingredients often need preparation before they are safe to serve: removing bones, cooking meat, fish, and eggs, and rinsing to remove salt or pesticide residue. A nutrient figure says nothing about whether an ingredient is safe in the form you have it.
